Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Debt Boss LLC ("we", "us") about using Debt Boss, including the website and app. By playing or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Debt Boss.

Who can play

You must be 18 or older. If you create an account, give a real email address, keep your password private, and use only one account for yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

What Debt Boss is, and isn't

Debt Boss is an educational game. It helps you picture your debts, see roughly how interest adds up, and try out payoff plans.

• It is not financial, legal, tax or credit advice, and it is not a debt relief or credit counseling service.
• It never contacts your lenders and never moves money. Logging a payment in the game does not pay a real bill.
• Its numbers, such as payoff dates, interest totals and forecasts, are simplified estimates based on what you enter. Your lenders' real figures may differ. Always check your statements.
• Before making important money decisions, talk to a qualified professional, such as a nonprofit credit counselor.

Your information

What you enter stays yours. You let us store and process it only to run the game for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Please don't enter account numbers or other people's information.

Game rewards

Valor, levels, streaks, ranks and other in-game rewards have no cash value, can't be sold or traded, and may change as the game changes.

Fair play

Please don't:

• break the law using Debt Boss, or use it to harm anyone
• try to get into other people's accounts or our systems, or get around security or limits
• overload, scrape or attack the service, or create accounts with bots
• copy, resell or reverse engineer the game, except where the law allows it
• pretend to be someone else

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Our game and content

The Debt Boss name, characters, art, sounds and software belong to Debt Boss LLC or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use the game for your own, non-commercial use. You're welcome to share the cards and clips the game makes for you on social media.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

Changes and availability

Debt Boss is free to play today. If we add paid features, we'll show the price and terms clearly before you pay. We may change, pause or stop parts of the game, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own records of your real debts.

Ending your use

You can stop playing at any time, and delete your account in the game (ACCOUNT, then DELETE MY ACCOUNT) as described in the Privacy Policy. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the game.

No warranties

To the extent the law allows, Debt Boss is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.

Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the game's estimates. Our total responsibility for any claim about Debt Boss is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.

Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

If something goes wrong

If you misuse Debt Boss or break these terms and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York, except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court. Please contact us first; most problems can be fixed quickly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the game before significant changes take effect. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.
